Would someone add some helpful resources for new rubyists?

I’ve found the RubyNuby page on the Ruby Garden Wiki to be a good starting point.

As far as a nice cozy tangible book to read, I would suggest the following:

• Programming Ruby
  Agile Web Development with Rails
  Ruby for Rails
  Ruby Cookbook
  Ruby Way

Pretty much in that order as well. Find more info on those books under ‘Suggested Reading’ link.
